WP IE Browser hijacked????

I had this issue with my android phones. I have never watched porn on my mobile devices and yet they seemed to load up. It could have been an app. But seeing how secure windows phone is and app integration I highly doubt it. It must be a cookie or start page or the website you're visiting. Hmm... Keep us updated.

Screen shots or it didn't happen. Having said that, you should be aware of what you agree to when connecting to a public wifi.

Goes to show connecting to open Wi Fi hotspots especially sketchy hotspots, is a complete No-No as anyone can watch what your browsing, in real time modify your traffic and can access your device - such attacks are commonly known as the "man in the middle" attacks.

Hi guys,
Need some help. The last couple of days i use my ie browser and when i google it, it find's a site, and once i enter that site my browser then gets redirected to either a porn site or a site saying that my phone's been infected. i tried to press back but sometimes is unresponsive. Read some articles saying to open a new tab but i don't want to do that all the time. Is there a shortcut around this??
Second, should i use google or Biing
Third and lastly, this redirecting also happens on my android chrome browser

If this is also happening on your Android Chrome Browser, then it is likely that the problem is not isolated to your IE Browser. Hence, your IE Browser was most probably not hacked/hijacked. If you were looking for the same site both in your IE browser and your chrome browser, it is safe to say that the redirecting is caused by the website itself. I would avoid that site, unless something really important can be found only in that site.

Depending on the nature of your search, certain websites are designed to scam people into either believing that there is something wrong with their phone/pc and convince them to buy something, or redirect to a porn website where the user would most likely spend some time (maybe hours) browsing through that site, hence generating revenue through advertising.

Lastly, Bing and Google seem to interpret key words a bit differently. I'm used to using Google in my laptop, but I use Bing freely in my phone. Whichever works for you (whichever gives you the result you're looking for faster), use that - sometimes Bing wins, sometimes Google wins.

Lumia 535 D user here with wp8.1 latest update.
I am redirected towards a site called fastads.com or something whenever I use IE. On data package the situation is even worse, the redirects are more often and my connectivity is nearly lost as a dns error comes on my face mostly when I use data connection these days.

I've been having this as well for the last couple of weeks and it is extremely irritating. As far as I can tell, it is a problem with something that BING is doing, because I have the same problem on an 830 and a 625, irrespective of the WiFi network they are using (tried two) and the mobile network they are using (they are on different networks). I don't think that it is a rogue app as the two phones do not have any apps in common (except the standard load ones) and I doubt that it is a dodgy website because I very rarely use the browser on the 625.

Had a long conversation with Tech support this week and after soft-resetting the phone (and strangely, uninstalling the BA app) I appeared to have solved it... but a couple of days later the same problem is back. Done all the standard stuff of refusing cookies, deleting history and deleting offline storage etc... but nothing seems to shift it. the opera mini app is unaffected (though slow and clunky, so barely a replacement) so it must be something to do with the interface between bing search on 8.1 mobile and the current IE version.

And despite everyone saying that WP doesn't have malware / viruses, this seems a hell of a lot like one.

Anyone else having this problem? We need this fixed...
