Private Internet Access VPN client issues with latest build 10049

Keeps coming up with 'Please click "Reinstall TAP Driver" in the Private Internet Access Start Menu' when attempting to connect.

Tried that, tried reinstall, tried Windows 8 Compatibility Mode. Nothing works.

The TAP driver seems to be installed without any issues in Device Manager.

Anyone else having issues / know of a fix?

Re: Private Internet Access VPN client issues with latest build 10049

I am also having the same issues right now. I found this information.
I am unsure how to do this exactly so if you know how to do it can you elaborate? Thanks!

Open entry as follows:

I don't know if the guide is always the same but the last id can be different for sure
You can open at least the class key and the just use find data: TAP-Windows Adapter V9
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4d36e972-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318}\0001

if you have more than one tap adapters then you have to add this for all of them

In this key add the REG_SZ entry:

ComponentId: tap0901
