Hi, Im using Lumia 720 handset, for using Cortana beta in India I have to switch the device to US locale. I did it but one thing seems to vary....the DIAL PAD.

IF i enter a number let say 7778889990, it batches itself in US manner ... i.e (777).....................
How can I skip this and enter any number without () / - ?

Buddy, I want the numbers to NOT appear as (777)888-9990.
I want the numbers to simply appear as 7778889990.
I know abt the Int'l assist thing, can you please tell me about the () or - thing?

Your phone dialer is following your Region setting of US so it gets formatted as (777)-888-9990

If you turn on International Assist it will keep your Region as US, but now you get the International standard +7778889990

Are you telling me that International Assist is on, yet you still see (777)-888-9990???

OK...

Settings > Region > Regional Format > Change that to whatever is appropriate rather than "match phone language" and tap the reboot button.

Tested. Confirmed.

Thanks bud. I changed all the settings to US, though I'm in India right now, only to use Cortana beta, so the dialer pad is in US setting to.
Yesterday night, I intentionally checked some numbers by dialling them, 2 of which went to the persons I know, and one went to some country, may be US, because the International toggle was ON, I checked the call history to check the numbers again ---- but I could see the actual number I called which was in my contact list.

Then I turned off the toggle, just to make sure this wont happen again
