Basic Email Question

Hello all! I was unable to find a related topic to this, but if one has already been posted, please let me know. Otherwise, here it is:

When sending an email from my Lumia 928 with WP8.1 it does not show as a sent file in the WEBMAIL online. In other words, after sending email I can find it in the sent mail folder on the phone. But if i log in to my webmail online the sent folder never updates to show the mail was sent. This came to light when I didn't have my phone on my but had to show where I'd contacted my mortgage company, but as I said, it wasn't there. I was able to resolve this later by showing the sent item from my phone, but that isn't the issue. Is there a setting to resolve this? I cannot find it on the phone itself, and my webmail has been set to save everything (as as troubleshooting item) until this is resolved. My guess is this cannot be fixed, but I had to ask.

It's possible it's not syncing the folder. I could be wrong but I don't think email is automatically set up to sync sent items and other folders unless you specify.
