Can I get software updates from Microsoft even after I unlock my Windows Phone?

I want to unlock my Windows Phone using SDK, and doubt if official Software updates and upgrades like Windows 10 upgrade can still be installed on my phone or not.

Are you talking about developer unlocking the phone? Yes, of course you'll still get updates.

Developer Unlocking does not unlock a SIM tray or debrand a phone and remove a carrier from the update stream...

If you Dev Unlock it will be just the same as it was previously in terms of OTA. No better, no worse.

I fully realize that, but don't like it. Why should I be at the mercy if a provider that I don't use?
