is it still possible to update lumia 822 from factory 8.0 to latest 8.1?

I tried updating it "normally" but I can't even sign in or create a microsoft account, it all shows an error code, maybe they no longer serve 8.0 software?

just want to know if flashing latest 8.1 on it would be the better option here, heck if it is faster I would probably just do that, please let me know

Hmm, maybe try the Windows Device Recovery Tool? I'm seeing update documents for it on Verizon's website (dated back to December 2014, though). I think it's probably possible that the plug was pulled on 8.0 or maybe just for that phone.
