I just picked up the 830 last week or so. but I'm looking at the future and was wondering if I should just get 950
that should hold me for two years.? I would have to get it from ATT I'm with t mobile now but they have some good things to come over.

If you don't need a power house then the 830 should be good. If you've the money then get the 950. I'm currently using my 830 (unlocked RM-985) and I'm about to switch over to my new 1520.

I have both the 830 and the 950. The 950 has had a few glitches, but little by little it's settling down. I loved my 830, but the 950 seems like a superior device.

830 has more nits (brightness), less glitches and no echo on calls. 950 is a great camera masquerading as a phone.

Can't brightness be adjusted in the 950 settings??

I'm still holding on to my 830, which is just 9months old ... Great little phone, now on .36,... to last me until 950/XL hits the local shops. Need to check it out in person. There is too much bs/negativity in reviews. I tend to read more on actual readers comments.

Yeah,... the 950/XL will probably beat the pants outa the 830...

I own both and I like the 950 much better. But I had WP10 working on my 830 which didn't work as well as it does on the 950. WP8.1 did work well on the 830. If you can afford I would go with the 950.

I sold my 830 a week after the 950 arrived. While windows 10 is still buggy, overall the 950 is a better phone. Just realize, not everyone has every issue mentioned with the 950. Example? I dealt with caller echo 1 time in over a month. I could go on and on, but the point is, there was no room for the 830 after the 950 arrived (and I still own my 920)

I think I'll sell off my 830 if/when I get the 950.
My older 920 is still with me, keeping it for sentimental reason, being my first WP. Why not keep the 830 you might ask, cos the built quality is not as good. The aluminium frame is slightly bent on both side... that's why plastic is better...
The 920 is indestructible and will outlast us all!!!

I wouldn't get the 950 just because of its price currently.

The 830 for me ticks all the boxes for me for a much lower price. OIS, Qi, "good enough" performance, LCD, it's not too big, solid construction, replaceable battery and card, etc.

The 950 is a fine phone but it's cost, slight size increase and styling downgrade just isn't worth it for me, despite the superior camera, display, processing power, Continuum and the few features it has limited to it like OTG and call recording.

The 830 is an old phone by now. An it has a pretty low range Snapdragon 400, so you might have some issues later down the road with running update software.

I would personally just keep an eye on the used section for a 950. The 950 is clearly a better phone.
