Regular Camera Equivalents to the Nokia Lumia Line - What camera would you choose?

The recent thread started by a professional photographer in the 1020 forum about how good the 1020 is, created some controversy. One poster in a flame-proof suit stated that a $100 point and shoot could take pictures just as good as the 1020. Since my humble little 521 has rekindled my love of photography, I have been thinking of upgrading to a better shooter. One of the things I am trying to decide is whether to get a 925 or 1020, or just buy a more conventional digital camera. There are some advantages to conventional cameras. For example, I find it easier to focus outside through a real viewfinder. On the other hand, as my sig line says, The best camera is the one you have with you. So, it got me to thinking about what you can get for the same price as a Lumia. I posted this ---> Link to a large list of cameras in the 1020 thread mentioned above. You can change the maximum and minimum prices of cameras available to match the Lumia prices.

My question is this - For each level of Lumia (520,620,925, and 1020), what more conventional camera would you choose, if you couldn't have a Nokia, for the same price and why?

520-521 (about $100)

620 (about $200)

720 (about $350)

920-928 (about $450)

1020 (about $600)

feel free to add any other Lumias I have left out if you so desire.

You forget the 720 in about 300-350 price range

I wish Nokia would just take the camera tech and throw it into device by itself..nothing else expect a small hd / sd card..

1020 - Sony Cybershot RX-100



Because it is the best compact camera out there (only topped by its predecessor rx-100 MKII)
