Hi there...
I've been reading a lot about Wi-Fi direct features not being in Windows phone. Don't worry a near good app has come out. Share huge file in minutes. Forget the Bluetooth and cloud storage coz Wi-Fi sharing is here.
The app is "easy transfer". It supports two types of file sharing options.
1. Sending files through a local Wi-Fi network.
2. Sending files through the internet sharing option on your phone.(used when no Wi-Fi network is found)
Due to Windows phone limitation, internet sharing doesn't get started unless you turn ON data. Of course it's not a problem for most of you. But here in my country data plans sucks big time. If you have a data plan which is always ON, don't worry about the trick, just go forward and share files..
For the people who don't have a data plan here is the trick.. Turn on battery saver to always (in order to restrict any other app quickly stealing you phone balance) then turn ON data, then quickly turn on the internet sharing.. As soon as the internet sharing is On... Go back and turn off the data.. But internet sharing still remains active.. Ask your friends to join this network.. And just type the address that the app give into the browser.. Voila there you go Wi-Fi file sharing for you..
