Ativ Beam App

I saw this screenshot on a website showing the Ativ Beam app in the Samsung App Store however that app does not exist in my Samsung App Store or when I click on more apps from Samsung. I have UK/Euro sim free model.

Anyone have the app? What does it do? Can you share it?

It allows you to share large files with Android devices similar to S Beam if I'm right. You can't use it unless you have GDR2 now as they updated the app without rolling the update out to everyone :angry:

Explains why it doesn't work for me.

TBoy: You may have to search for "ATIV Beam" in order to download it to your device.

It doesn't show up in the store for me.

Last I saw it was still in beta at version 0.7.0 (I think) which may be why it isn't past of the Samsung Store yet

The app seems to have been pulled from the store, since I can no longer seem to search for it. Those who have it, however, can still update it. Samsung released a small update today: 0.7.1.1

Has anybody had any success in using this app yet?

It no longer works for me either and unfortunately my Rogers ativ s has not received gdr2 update either

I'm on bell, no updates yet, didn't receive portico on my 8x until April. So I'm thinking gdr2 in October :/. Hows Rogers for Ota updates? What firmware do you guys have? Thinking of switching carriers.

I wouldn't worry, Samsung and Microsoft are being lethargically slow rolling out GDR2 to unbranded devices :-/

I have GDR2 but I cannot install Ativ Beam. It says it's incompatible with my phone, even tried from sdcard. Anyone managed to install it after GDR2 update?

There are users who managed to install it on Ativ S.
I think it's related to firmware version rather than software. Since I updated the phone manually, I stiil have firmware 24.24.13.5.1 even if software version is 8.0.10327.77. I think firmware version makes it incompatible and I cannot install it. What is your version?
But yes, it would be interesting to see firmware and software version from an user that managed to install it.

No, after GDR2 update and resetting the phone. I did that twice (for other reasons) but no luck with Beam. Either is related to firmware version or it's region locked.
So, nobody with GDR2 installed it? And if so, could you post firmware version?

I'm on GDR2 (10327.77) and firmware 2424.13.51 and I cannot find (or download via Store/Sysapp updater) Ativ Beam.
I tried changing my region to UK or US (worked with Here Drive which is not available in my country, Greece) but still no Ativ Beam. This suggests to me that it's firmware related and not region related.
