gdr2 reset

just curious. after recieving gdr2 update i reset my ativ s and did see changes(data sense,etc). wondering if it will be necessary to do a reset after every update to enable the features of that update. i don't remember having to do that when i updated my samsung focus to mango.

Just coincidence. You don't need a reset after updating or flashing your phone.

Absolutely, it's an issue with the GDR2 update that means a factory reset is needed for Data Sense to show up.

Not true in all cases then. Data Sense is carrier dependent and I had it right from the word go.

thanks to both of you for the replies. my phone is somewhat of a mongrel...an unlocked samsung ativ s, original carrier rogers from canada, now running on straight talk in the u.s. wasn't sure if it acted differently than carrier locked phones.

On an ATIV S, I don't think so as it was exclusive to Verizon initially!!!

Instead of making it on by default in the ROM Microsoft made it so the provxml provisioning turns Data Sense on. Unfortunately that only runs on first boot. Samsung seems to have forgotten to manually enable it for updates.
