Latest Samsung Ativ S firmware updates

Same 8018830f error, when I try to update today from GDR2. I tried the WP8.1 8018830f error fixes but nothing works.

Clean IE history. Then go search for an update.

The update is the gdr3. At least on the csc dbt

Yeah, thats true, i guess what all tech sites are reporting of Bing apps being updated, forgot to tell that that's only for WP8.1 devices. And I personally don't use any of the Bing (now MSN) apps, so i am not missing them at all. For a weather i use Frost, it's an awesome app. For sports I only use for football and it's Live Football app (the real one, not the american one), for finance, health and blah blah blah other apps, never used them nor used any other kind of similar apps. But, that's just me, other may think different.

It's not only msn apps, we can't have the latest One Drive app. So I 'm afraid we ATIV S users will be out of the game soon.

Had the same 8018830f error, but it went through this morning!! New version now is 8.0.10517.150

Not sure if MS/Samsung provided new updates, all I did last night was using the "Storage cleaner" app. It "cleaned" up from 10,02 to 10,03 GB free space, but.... who knows.....

Same story here. GT-I8750, CSC DBT from GDR2 to GDR3 today.
OS 8.0.10327.77 to 8.0.10517.150
Firmware 2424.13.5.1 to 2424.13.10.1
Radio sw 2424.13.5.1 to 2424.13.9.1
Bootloader 13.04.19.21 to 13.08.14.16

(and copyright notice went from 2012 Microsoft Corporation to 2013 Microsoft Corporation)

So finally an update sadly no early update but a very late one. This can mean anything. It could mean 8.1 is around the corner, or it's so far away Samsung decided to try and keep us happy with old news...

I still have hope that this update is indeed the WP8.1. It wouldn't make sense to launch GDR3 so late and out of nowhere. Some lumia phones also got this error when updating to WP8.1 and it was corrected after a few days.

Let's just wait and see what happens next.

by commulative they mean that if you get GDR3, upgrading from GDR2, you'll get all updates that were released in the middle. nothing else. so the point stands: you can't skip updates.

WP8.1 still havent reach to GDR3 (dunno if will ever reach)
Only WP8 got up to GDR3 (GDR1, GDR2 and GDR3)
Since Samsung haven't yet release official WP8.1 firmware, that means you have WP8.1 Developers Preview (generic WP8.1) but running on the latest firmware, which in your case is GDR2 i think. And that's why various bugs occur with WP8.1 DP on ATIV S, cuz it lacks the official Samsung firmware

Ok, I think I got it. So those firmware updates are released with OS updates and because my phone is on 8.1DP it wont get the previous firmware updates since it has a higher OS version, right? It's not that important, because the 8.1 firmware yet to come is what really matters. It's just out of curiosity

After updated to 8.1 dev, camera bugs started to show..but sometimes its working fine and sometimes not..if I want to shoot or snap, I think I need to restart the phone. Except camera, everything if very good. I wanted to special mention to battery improvement. last one week there was a significant improvement in my battery life. It coming complete 2 days of full charging. May be my usage is little compared to others. But the same activities with android phone is different. The battery was not coming more than one day.

I had plenty of storage, that was not the issue, I see now that it's installing fine.

I shoud mention what I've noticed, having 2 ATiV S: the official gdr2 firmware works a little better with WP8.1 dev prev than GDR3 firmware. The only issue with the GDR2 FW and WP8.1 DP is the camera flash/freeze. You don't have the ringtone reseting issue or the bluetooth disconnection.
