Haven't you had any reboot?
I might try to so. Can you tell us by what model you masked the ativ S in the registry to perform the update?
I'd take any other advice too.
If I may ask? Thank you.

I've had now one reboot after phone froze. But nothing major.
i'm not so sure about parameters now because phone didn't accepted at first. It was one of these, and and I'm sure both will work:

"phoneManufacturerModelName = " RM-976_1161 "
"PhoneFirmwareRevision" = " 02040.00019.14484.24002 "
PhoneMobileOperatorName" = " 000-PL " " Lumia 630 CV POLAND "

or

RM-1040_1021

These are posted by grozaman and bence and the worked both.

i wish you a luck. Report back the experience :)

Hey guys,
It's been a while.

Just received an update on my Ativ S 'that fixes random reboots'
OS: 8.10.14157.200
Firmware: 2424.15.3.2
hardware: 15.15.1.0
soft radio: 2424.15.3.2
hard radio:0.0.0.800
bootloader: 15.01.21.13

Don't know previous, didn't check
update took about 5 minutes to install
Anyon else received it also?
(PHN)

*edit: still can't use Skype Qik though :( need OS 8.1.14160

Cheers

I just got the update an hour ago too.
As you can see from the screenshots, neither OS Version is changed nor Firmware Revision number. I guess this is quick fix for the reboot bug (not that i had one so far)
Anyway, CSC is NEE, the phone is on official WP OS version with official Samsung firmware. No PfD, no Insider ever.

EDIT: About others couldn't receive the update or want to check or something, this is an interesting app from MS itself in the WP Store:
Stop Restart App

I also got an update, but it wasn't the critical one, it was called "Insider Slow Ring configuration update".
My OS version ist still 8.10.14219.341 + 2424.15.3.2. Lame, I also want a reboot fix (although it doesn't reboot that often...)

Got same update. No changes in OS information. CSC is ATO.

EDIT: The Stop Restart App says that my phone is OK. Did not know about the app before I installed today's update so do not know what it would say before update. Have never faced the re-boot issue anyway :smile:.

EDIT2: Actually, thinking more about it, I did see my device reboot sometimes. But it was like once in a month or once in couple of weeks at most I guess. I have never read in detail about this re-boot issue so I do not know whether this much frequency of automatic re-boots means that my phone had the issue?

The thing is that I have my ATIV S i8750 for almost more than a year now, and it never rebooted on its own. I mean, this was not an issue when i was on WP8 GDR2, GDR3 nor now on WP8.1 and WP8.1.1. The only restarts my ATIV S occur was the ones i did it myself, manually. Guess I got lucky with my device, never had any major issues, just once with the battery draining when i was on WP8 GDR2. :)

Update is available for CSC DBT, too:

Haven't had a reboot for a few months now, but witnessed that issue already several times since I got my device in November 2013. Will take a look at that in the future.

Nice to see that Samsung still maintains our beloved ATIV S, raises hopes for Windows 10! :love:

Indeed you are lucky then :). I will see whether I continue to face the occasional re-boots after today's update.

It is not about a reboot but it is about the boot loop which was caused after update 8.10.14219.341

I think after this you will get update 8.10.14203.306 and 8.10.14219.341 soon.

Ahh, just read on a german forum that the Update was released directly by MS since lots of Lumias receive it too. So no Samsung commitment... 😞

I received it as well, from what I've gathered it stops random reboots from occurring but I never had that issue.

I was already at 8.10.14219.341 (used trick with the broken off windows 10 install). Got the update and no changes in version. Had some reboots in the past, my idea was it had to do with the SD card, but in general it was very stable. So we'll see if it is even better now!

Ever since the beginning, i had occasional reboots...
But I still think it has to do my 3G module; at places where there is nearly no reception, or 1 bar Edge; it sometimes reboots.
There is even a place, every time I pass that street -> reboot...
Anyway, that's the only issue I have with my Ativ S. 0 Hard or soft resets done - still smooth as f*ck
