I scraped mine with keys on purpose to test out the gorilla glass and it didn't scratch.

I dropped mine on gravel and ended up paying $156 for repairs. Gorilla Glass is damage resistant, but not damage proof.

I have since gotten a gel case and screen protector...

I put a screen protector on mine right away. Droped it and it scratched the plastic/chrome so go a case.

Yep, $70 std repair fee + $80 for a new digitizer + taxes.

Shipping to and from Samsung repair facility was free, LOL.

wow, i hope they don't think that my phone not reading my sim card is somehow my fault and charge me to fix/replace it.

did they tell you how much it was going to be to fix and give you an option to just have it sent back to you if you didn't want to pay?

Somehow, mine got scratched a couple days ago. It was possibly when I dropped it from a height of no more than two feet with a silicone case on it. The screen wasn’t shattered so I didn’t investigate further. But it was after I had it in my pocket for most of the day, bare, with nothing else but a tube of Burt’s Bees chapstick that I noticed the crack. It’s deep enough that my fingernail runs across it, but not so deep that it’s noticeable during operation. It looks like it was damage from the fall, and I feel another fall, even with the case, will crack the screen to the point that it needs to be repaired.

The funny this is, it’s nearly impossible to scratch it with keys and blades when you really try. But my first Focus somehow developed a very shallow, hairline scratch. It hadn’t been dropped, and was kept in my pocket with nothing else.

You can either call Samsung support or start the repair process on their website and it will give you a rough estimate. There are different repair prices for different damage. If your Focus is still under warranty and it's defective then repair should be free. I thought it was going to be just the $70 std repair fee at first because the glass was cracked, but the LCD and touch worked fine, but apparently it's all one unit so they called me to let me know it needed LCD replacement.

Good luck. Someone else needed LCD replacement and they were able to get the support rep to only charge the $70, so i would first try calling and speaking to a support rep.

i called them the other day and they issued me an RMA ticket, it's currently on its way to them (should get there tuesday) they said it was under warranty and didn't give me any price quote on the phone (which somewhat makes sense since they don't really know what's wrong with it other than it's not seeing the sim card, it did for a few hours, and then stopped and wouldn't see it regardless of what i tried on my own, att tried, and i went though samsungs troubleshooting with them on the phone as well.

my guess is the contacts for where the phone reads the sim are messed up, because my card works in other phones, and att tried known working sim cards and they didn't work in that phone.

being that it is a user accessible area, i'm just hoping they don't say something like "you must have broken it, this isn't covered" and try to charge me.

i swear, it's like i'm doomed to never have a windows phone! :(

also, sorry it's a bit off topic. :)
