So my Focus 1.3 still doesnt see the 7.5 update on AT&T. I have been unable to 'force' it using the cable pull method despite trying many many times over the last couple months. I even did a restore to the original firmware and it did download several updates but stopped at 7.0.7392.0.

Has anyone found another way to get a phone to do the update? (or could I have a bugged phone?)

My old Focus is also stuck on an old version of the OS. I just plugged it in to look for an update two days ago. I'd really like this issue solved.

This is the primary reason I refused to get a Focus S, even though I liked it so much.

Wow, that is horrible! I would contact ATT and get them to do something about it. Might be a bad phone somehow; who knows! But they will replace it if you push them hard enough!

I assume you have tried a hard reset. Usually can cast out any demons in your phone.

Yeah I did. I even restored it to factory firmware then let it redo the other updates. It still wouldnt pick up the latest 7.5 update.

Ugh.. I tried the manual update.. Now my phone won't even connect to my computer.. Sigh.. I can't even give it away without feeling guilty about leaving someone with the impression WP is still like 7004...
I wouldnt mind doing a manual update at this point. Nothing else has worked so far.

i am going to list the steps from the XDA developer thread, this is the original thread
[CAB] Official WP7 Update list for offline updates: OS (7.10.8107!)/OEM/ALL LANGUAGES - xda-developers

1. download the attachment wp7 update tool and install your platform flash tool (x86 or x64)
2. download the attachment wp7 cab sender archive and extract it to a folder. for eg:
C:\temp
3. download the following cab files:
http://download.windowsupdate.com/m..._fe49cc6a5f39389728a769f9013dcd491bd65168.cab
http://download.windowsupdate.com/m..._35616816bdd0b9c08e39cdbab9fc9f7bfafec5ac.cab
http://download.windowsupdate.com/m..._669700d5014b3a9c73fe81390281620ca29d0675.cab
http://download.windowsupdate.com/m..._3a3a18fff5252d787974a169b115f8b428c0566c.cab
http://download.windowsupdate.com/m..._5787b956938cb2b6d09892934b38dd9fd88f25ab.cab

Store all of them in the directory where WP7 Update Cab Sender.bat resides, C:\temp\cab sender
4. download the language file (EN-US)
http://download.windowsupdate.com/m..._04973d3358abc8524cca292e5ff43f71ac0a0b01.cab

Place this file also in that batch file location

5. connect the device and make sure zune is not running
6. run the batch file and press S
7. wait for the phone to reboot and the drivers to get installed on the PC.
8. after a while your phone will display an image with red cross in it, just keep waiting
9. after sometime you will see progress bar and then the actual update happening.

NOTE: the red cross will be displaying for sometime don't disconnect it, even if the update tool says connection timeout and times out..

Im trying this but I get an error:

╠══════? Updating device

The system cannot find the path specified.
The system cannot find the path specified.
UpdateWP version 4.8.2134.0

Error: No update files.

I do have all the cab files in the same directory as the batch file. Any idea what I'm missing?

OK, so I figured out that error. I went and downloaded every .cab file on the xda site. (there are a few more than where listed here)

However, I still got some errors about duplicate files so I started going one at a time. It got me partially updated but then one error out and basically bricked the phone (boot loop). I flashed back to 7004 and this time, for whatever reason, Zune detected the updates all the way up to Mango. The previous time I had flashed to 7004 it did not do that.
