Problem with updating to mango

I have a friend with a Samsung Focus and she still hasn't updated to mango. Every time she tries it doesn't let her. Something pops up saying not enough disk space or whatever. Has anyone with a Focus ever have this problem? if so, what's the solution?

Well if the phone tries to backup and there is not enough disk space on the PC hard drive....well, maybe there is not enough disk space. And as a Focus can theoretically have 40GB of storage (8GB Nand + 32GB microSD) that is entirely possible. Remove all media (photos, video & music) from the phone and try again. If it fails again, remove all the games, and the apps is necessary. She can reinstall everything again after the update.

I temporarily moved ~50GB of data from my C drive to an external drive and that cleared enough space for the backup the Mango install required. Good luck.
