It's not always that this happens. It's when the connection is too slow or non-existent (it shows a box where an ad should be but it shows an error message that it can't connect to the server). When the connection is stable, it doesn't show ads.
And I'm running this on W10M 10536.1004 so yes, it's also very, VERY, VERRRRRYYYY slow. Tapping on an article, I have to wait for about 20-30 seconds (or more) for the app to respond. Tapping on the back button is the same.
