Everything I'm reading, including the Microsoft site says it's "Band 2". So what's with the switch to calling it by the year?

If you look at the MS site here; Microsoft Band | Official Site it's just referred to as the Band, not band 2.

Either way, you know what device the forum is for.

If you look at the MS site here; Microsoft Band | Official Site it's just referred to as the Band, not band 2. This is why the forum is named like this.
Until you go to order - then you see "Microsoft Band 2"

Or if you look in the MS Health app under the "What's New" section and see "Learn more about Microsoft Band 2".

Or if you look in the MS Health Dashboard, you'll see things like "Stairs tracking is available on Microsoft Band 2."

Nowhere but this forum have I ever seen it called "Band (2015)"

Bottom line, that seems to be how MS is distinguishing it. Maybe in time they'll switch to years, like they did with SQL.

Anyway, it appears an admin agrees with me as it's been changed. Thanks!

If it proves to be a point of confusion, then perhaps it can be called "Microsoft Band 2 (2015)"
