Okay.. Before you guys all look at me like I'm crazy (I am not), I am only asking because I am currently taking a CS course at school and we are learning how to develop for Android.
Sadly, the professor picked Android because "we can develop the applications on all OS."

He mentioned something about deploying to a real Android device, and I of course, do not own an Android device. Although I believe using just the emulator on the computer will be just fine.

I have a HTC Surround that I do not use anymore, so I am wondering if it is possible to flash an Android rom on it. I saw some posts on xda on how to dualboot WP7 + Android on a HD2. So I'm wondering can I do the same for the Surround?

HD2 ran initially ran WinMo, and was extremely open. As of right now, there isn't enough interest, it seems, to create a new bootloader (that sits on top of the existing one) to load Android.
