I am a .NET developer, and apparently, all my group members are Java developers. So, we decided to work on the common ground - C/C++. Need some ideas that can be implemented with these languages. If there are projects and source codes that I can use as reference, then that would also be great.

This is a semester project, and I'd get approximately a couple of months to get it done.

What you can do in C/C++ is an audio project.

    Ideas :

    - mix 2 or more audio files in real time (wav is more easy than mp3)
    - add effects to audio (equalizer, reverb...)
    - Identify a media playing (like shazam) (a small database to begin ?)
    - make a VST plugin. A VST is a software interface that integrates software audio synthesizer and/or effect audio. You can then test/use this VST instrument/effect in all the main music-making software like Cubase, Reason, FL Studio...
