    I am writing a script which requires user input. How can I prompt for user input to use in my bash script. Thanks for your offer to help. I'm very grateful.

    Hey,
    If you meant requiring input like Y or N you should look into the bash read command.
    Should be something like this:
    read -p "Do you want to proceed?" yn
    case $yn in
    [Yy]*) //do stuff;
    [Nn]*)//do other stuff;
    Not quite sure about the syntax since I use it rarely. Try googling about the read command
