Here's something to think about. Let's think about a few months ahead and there is a mutual announcement from Sprint and Microsoft to launch the rumored Surface WP8 device (using the proper CDMA coding and encryption). What would be the reaction by the community?

Please comment only if you are reacting to the question and scenario given, and don't say Sprint/CDMA suck because those will be considered way off topic on the question stated.

There would be sooo much anger and bitterness. I think even more anger than the 920 being an AT&T exclusive. The Surface tablet isn't the most advanced Win8 tablet on the market but it's by far the "hero" tablet. Basically that means it's the tablet to beat. The current hero device for Windows Phone is the Lumia 920. A Surface phone would become the new hero device virtually overnight. Limiting the flagship, hero device to the nation's 3rd largest carrier - the same one that told buyers to trade-in their Arrive shortly after it was released - that would be heresy.
