Microsoft Surface Phone could be alive and packing a projector | TechRadar

The above article outlines a supposed leak suggesting a device named Surface Mobile to launch and to have some interesting specs, one such being an "onto table" projection mode for continuum. It also states a figure of 185 degrees, having been translated from Chinese, which has been presumed so far to be related to a built in kickstand and that the number is an error and should be 165 degrees, but what if that figure is correct and this "onto table" feature is a HoloLens style mode for continuum with a stated FOV of 185 degrees; this would be enough for your primary vision and some peripheral vision and would be a drastic improvement over the current FOV in HoloLens.

I look forward to reading your discussion and thoughts on it.

Apologies if this has been posted before :)

Some used to call the 1020 a niche phone.. :D Now this is a niche phone.

There's not much to say about it, not enough details, and not very trustworthy. I'm not saying that it is fake, but at this point it might as well be a prototype that will never reach the market.
Either way, it's not something I need.

In hindsight we've seen so many phones before that never made it to the market, annoying "fan concepts" that pretty much ruins everything, and useless rumors. I need more than that.

Do we think that the Surface Mobile device will be multi-screened as the patent suggests? Whatever its final form, I would still suggest that they will want to ensure it can run Mixed Reality with a USB-C headset plugged in, something I can see draining more power as the original article I posted suggested. I guess we won't know until it is unveiled sometime between now and 2025 ;-)

By "us" you must mean "you" as a few people thanked me for posting it. I hadn't read much about Andromeda and found the article informative. Thank you for your constructive post though.
You're right, it is possible that I've read more info about it than others, although I don't really feel like I've read that much about it.

I've read through the article again, and it doesn't really tell me anything new about features. Most links are old, some is covered in the OP's link, WCentral has covered CShell, the foldable display patent, and the quest for a groundbreaking mobile device. Andromeda was news in february.

What new features did you find in that article?

I like the idea of a fold out screen but I've yet to see a prototype that was easily pocketable (Not sure thats even a word). I will reserve judgement until I see the functional device in hand. Whatever it is, it will be a nexgen device that we havent yet seen.

I posted most of this on another thread, but it seems to apply here, also. But, I too, like the fold-out FF ...small when on the move, "GO BIG" to do some serious "stuff", with a great camera, and great screen for viewing videos and gaming. The CShell will make the phone easier for new comers that have had some Windows PC exposure, and with the Surface Products being as great as they have become, we might get some support from a hesitant demographic. Anyway, I excided to see what's around the corner:)
