Good question. At the Microsoft store I went to a few months ago you could still get a Tmobile phone under contract and the rep there gave me a vague answer about why they were selling them that way still. Their no contract family plans are awesome, however information seems to be all over the place. Today news seems to be even more confusing or just redundant. The 4 for $100 family plan already exists. You can actually get 4 lines for $90. 50 plus 20, 10 and 10.

I don't know why but this image of him is hilarious. It definitely needs a caption below.

"What the F*** are they thinking!?"

The Jump program doesn't sound half bad. Especially if you're not locked into it for a whole year. I'm guessing there's a waiting period, though, and you can't get on, get off for a year, get back on and trade your phone in for a new one.

This is very interesting, but I hated that when I had my HTC HD7, there was no upgrade path. I decided to cut my losses and go with At&t. I like that even thou I pay $120 for a 900 min plan with role over, and 5 gigs of data, I have LTE speeds and I know I can always upgrade my device to the greatest devices available.

I usually don't upgrade that often, and when I do I usually pay for the phone outright. I think I'd be more likely to pay myself $30 a month, then when a device I want comes out use the saved money to bring the out of pocket cost down for the new device. After just a year I'd have saved $360.

Eh... I've been a little trigger happy these past two years since losing a phone I loved a lot. Got an emergency replacement in my Nokia E73 Mode, grew to dislike that phone because it kept rejecting its memory card after a few months, grabbed an iPhone 4 from Apple, used that for a year and a half and then got a Lumia 810. I got annoyed with the lack of firmware updates with that one and then grabbed an unlocked Rogers 920, which I'm of course currently using. I was considering getting a 925 as well, but I think I'll calm down a bit. LMAO, I'm someone who used to use my phones for at least two to three years straight, if I could help it, up until two years ago. So, no, I'm not going to go with the JUMP! program. I'd rather hold onto that money and keep using my trusty 920.

I regret getting it... I signed up for Jump in July 2013 when I got a 925... and they never introduced another WP since. Now that the 830 or the M8 are coming, I'm basically forced into trading up, because as I figure it, its costing me $30/mo not to. ($10 jump + $20 mo pmt towards the 925)

If it were up to me, I would have bought the 1520.3 months ago... but getting into Jump means you're locked into buying only the phones they offer.

Yup, you could still get a top of the line S5, Note 4, or iPhone as a secondary device and still get a 1520.3
