So as many others have reported in builds prior to 10581 the significant battery drain was huge problem. My Lumia 930 on build 10536 would last perhaps 8 hours with zero or minimal use. After installing 10581 last night and charging to 100% I let th phone sit. This a.m., roughly 10 hours since full charge the phone is still @ 89%.

I'd like others to confirm as well with their phone models just to make sure I'm not in some delusional state of mind.

Im on Lumia 1020 battery life is even worse than before! Draining so quickly and even faster on standby I have 50% left and took it off charge 4 hrs ago

re: the 1020 - might have to wait a while before you can tell. my icon went from 80 to dead in less than two hours yesterday after the install. obviously it has a lot of post-installation tasks. but now it seems okay.

I have a Lumia 635.

Updated to 10581 last night. Battery was at 97% when I switched the phone on this morning. A little over 11 hours later it is on 79%. To put into context, with the same sort of usage on build 10536 I was at 40%-ish by this time of day. I also have Cortana enabled in this build, whereas I switched Cortana off in 10536.

I've been using insider builds for several months as my daily driver on Lumia 640. Don't have hard numbers but it does seem much improved. Had it charged when I left work yesterday at 4:30pm and with light use - browsing, email, texting - last evening and this morning it's sitting at 52%. Glance screen is even on - which I had to disable in previous builds or it would kill the battery in a hurry.

I thought it was better - until you hit battery saver mode when you're down to 10%.

Then it stops charging the battery, and doesn't charge at all (though the icon shows it charging) on the top display - but in settings it shows it as plugged in and NOT charging (took a screenshot).

This was off a USB port. When I moved it to Qi charging, it's now charging.

Ugh.

Lumia 1520, Windows Mobile v 10581 -

It's lasting a lot longer than the last build for me, too. I was getting around 7 or 8 hours on my 640, now here's my latest hours on the me build..

Over 36 hours now and @ 35%. I've decided to charge battery now since normally it's a good idea to not let these new fangled batteries to drop below 70% in order to preserve their useful lifespan. But knowing 10581 seems to be consistent now makes me happy with the future of W10M.

Lumia 820 user here. I have abused the phone battery in last 2.5 years. Yet there is still 85% charge left in the battery after 24 hrs.

Battery life wasn't an issue for me until the last build. 10572 was shockingly bad. I remember the day I installed it my battery barely made it through one gym session and it was at about 80% when I went in. I'm on an HTC One and battery life from 10572 to 10581 has been night and day. Whatever they did worked.

I don't understand everyone's battery drain. My 1020 lasts 3-4 days on standby. :-\

My Lumia 520 has been off the charger for 18 hours and it's at 89%. It's better than 10572 but 10572 was still good for me.

Yep, this build is pretty much on par with WP8.1 on a lumia 730, which is great because the OS is way more advanced and complex than before but in the same time crazy efficient!

Builds like 10549, 10536 and below where atrocious compared to this one (at least on this device)
My last build was 10572 on the 730 and with average use I had to plug it to the charger before midnight (with ~10% battery left).

2 full days now on the build 10581 and with average to high usage, the battery is approximately 50% at midnight!
At this point, I really don't think it could get any better..
Props to the Windows team!

edit: for those who experience cr*ppy battery life, check your background running apps under settings and disable some stuff !
but again, if your phone dies within 5 hours then either clean install the latest build, or revert to WP8.1 cause it might be device centric..
