1520 motherboard problems

About two weeks ago, I brought my 1520 to the official repair shop for Microsoft since the front facing camera suddenly stopped functioning. Took them quite a while to get back to me. Anyway, they called me up this morning to say that the issue is about the motherboard and that Microsoft is not allowing out of warranty phones to get ahold of motherboards since the cost might be prohibitive. Now, I've asked that they roll it back to 8.1 but they couldn't. Is there a way where I can get motherboards here?

You could search ebay or similar sites for a phone with a broken screen and try to switch the board.

But, the only ones I've seen so far are for the 16g variant. I need the 32g one. In any case, I pulled it out from their customer care. It would make me phone-less for the next 4-6 weeks which I find unacceptable.
