1520 or 1320

I want to get a larger Lumia and I'm finding it difficult to choose between the 1520 and the 1320. I like what I've seen of the results of the 1520 camera, but I also like the ability to change backplates (when they get scuffed or just for a change of colour) on the 1320. I've seen the displays of both and to be honest I can't see that much difference. And, of course, the 1320 is a fair bit cheaper.
Any help???

If the issue is changing backplates - that can be accomplished rather easily w the Lumia 1520 - just 1 screw (between the sim & micro SD slot).

I was originally going to get a 1320 as a direct upgrade to my 620 as it was pretty similar with a few extra goodies, but eventually decided on the 1520 for the fact it will be longer before I will need an upgrade, and its built in capacity negated the need for me (personally) to get a memory card.

1520 is faster and has a much better processor than the 1320, wireless charging and a full HD screen, and has 2GB memory - compared to 1 in the 1320, and 32GB onboard storage compared to the 8 in the 1320. As for cases I'm just going to get a leather flip one for protection.

Ah...wireless charging. I'd forgotten about that. It's a big plus. Must admit about speed, I've had a little play with both the 1520 and the 1320 and they both seem to be equally as fast to me. And smaller storage on the 1320 isn't really a problem with 8.1 cos you can put stuff on the card.

Two advises I would give you:
1. Money(price) is a factor in your decision.
2. Money(price) isn't a factor.

If money(price) is a factor, then that would tilt the scale in favor of L1320 as it is much cheaper.
If money(price) isn't a factor, then I see almost no reason to go with L1320. And I used the word "almost" just as a benefit of doubt, because I see absolutely no reason to pick the L1320 over L1520 (ie. price excluded).
The L1520 outshines the L1320 in every other single useful way I can think of.

In other words, if not the price, I don't see myself considering the L1320 over the L1520.

OK...I'm swaying towards the 1520, but one other thing I've noticed is it takes a nano SIM. I swap my SIM between phones - all of them micro SIMs - regularly and I haven't yet found a nano>micro SIM adaptor that works well. They usually get jammed in the phone.
Oh...decisions!

Oooh I didn't notice it took a nano SIM... and given the 1520's size, I think that's a bit of a stupid option lol.

More questions

1. Screen visibility outdoors. Lumina 1320 better?
2. RM-985 rumor! it looks like a 930 but with 720p screen, lower quality camera. Releasing Aug WPCentral hasn't commented yet
3. Battery life. Have some concern on the 1080 screen
4. A fully unlocked 1320 is ~ $300 US. GSMNATION/Newegg/expansys, $279 Cricket . The 1520 starts overs $550?
5. The camera is my only real concern. The 1320 is considerably worse especially low light.

It looks like waiting 4-6 weeks for he RM-985 may get a $350 device slightly smaller screen but with much better camera! The RM-985 may also compete with 1320/1520.

You could fit a mega SIM easily! :)
One day, they'll all be the same size and life will be easier.

It hardly is. And considering the amount of iPhone 5s users, might be a good idea.

That might not be the best, but except you switch sim ever hour, I don't see this as a relevant factor to pick L1320 over L1520.
How often do you take out your sim?

I'd you're gaming you will easily notice the difference in speed.

Seems to me the camera is the major deciding factor. I've just had a look at various posts with examples from both devices and the 1520 clearly wins hands down.

More like:
Camera
Memory
Chipset
RAM
Processor
Pixel density
And every other thing.

Well if at this point you still put up an argument of L1320 against the L1520 then I would say you most likely already made your decision or for some special reason you just don't want to accept the L1520.

But as stated before, apart from price, the L1320 has almost no advantage over the L1520.

Check this for testsamples
Nokia Lumia 1520 Camera Photo Test Result at Day Light, Sun Light and Night - GSMArc.com

The hardware of the 1520 is better than the 1320, but you hardly notice it in daily use.
The screen of the 1520 is better than the 1320 in specs, but the 1320 is brighter.
The 2 Gig of ram is ( for now ) overkill, most apps are build for 512 Mb specs and a small amount is build for 1 Gig

The battery of the 1320 last longer with normal usage

The only true sellingpoint is the Camera.
