I have a Surface Pro 1796 that when I press the power button will just flash the Windows logo for about a second and then nothing. I've tried holding down the power button for 30 seconds. It will show the Windows logo again. Still nothing. Black screen. I don't have a warranty so that's not a option. Anyone have any suggestions?

Maybe this will provide some help :)

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4036297/surface-windows-doesnt-start-on-surface

I don't own a SP, but my first thought would be to check if I can boot into BIOS. If that's possible then things get 'easier'. I would proceed to create a bootable usb using rufus; change my bootdrive in the bios and then just reinstall windows 10.

That being said.. I hope all of this is possible on a surface pro lol

On web chat with mcrosoft today to try and resolve the issue i think we both have and it would appear there is a hardwear issue the connection between the motherboard and the hard drive is not functioning.

booted it into UEFI mode using command prompt run as administrator when you get to the page if you top right hand corner you will see a memory chip with a cog, if this is the same you are likely to have the same fault as me and this was confirmed by the microsoft tech via web chat
