I have the Sprint HTC Touch Pro and I have been unable to figure out how to establish a 3-way conference call with it. Has anyway had similar difficulties with 3-way calling?

It works perfectly on my FUZE and I imagine it is similar

1) go to phone and start first call.
2) once it connects you have the option to put that call on hold
3) click on the Add Call button and dial new number
4) chose the join call or conference button and all the calls are together.

worked great for a conference call I had this morning.

Thanks for the response. I've always recalled 3-way calling being fairly straight forward - much like the steps you posted. However it appears my Sprint Touch Pro is not capable of 3-way calls right now. Maybe there will be a firmware upgrade that add 3-way soon.

i just spoke to my business partner who has a sprint touch pro and his does 3 way conference calls

After receiving your message (above) and finding directions to do 3-way conference calling in the help file on my Sprint HTC Touch Pro but finding no way to actually do conference calling on the device itself. I decided to goto the Sprint Store to find out what I'm doing wrong.

I was pleased to find several Sprint employees on duty that had HTC Touch Pro as their personal phone. None of us could establish a 3-way conference call on the phone - The device simply does not offer that ability. We checked the firmware revisions and we all had the same thing (includes the one on display):
ROM version: 1.03.651.3
ROM date: 09/12/08
Radio version: 1.03.15F
So based on this experiment - we all concluded that the device simply does not offer that capability right now :(. No one at the store knew if there was a pending firmware release around the corner.

It's strange that 3-way conference calling would not be in Sprint's version of the Touch Pro and this was overlooked by the many reviewers. IMHO - it will certainly complete an almost perfect phone.

Has anyone here heard of a new firmware release for Sprint HTC Touch Pro?

I stand pleasantly corrected

I searched the support files at www.sprint.com and found the following directions for establishing a 3-Way conference call on the Sprint HTC Touch Pro.

It's not very intuitive - compared to what I'm used to and it also deviates from what is in the help file on the phone, but it works.....

How do I make a three-way call?
Three-way calling lets you talk to two people at the same time. You can use three-way calling even if you didn't start the phone call. When using this feature, the normal airtime rates will be charged for each of the two calls.
To make a three-way call, perform the following steps:
1. Enter the phone number you want to call and press TALK.
2. Once you have established the connection, press TALK again to get a dial tone.
3. Dial the second phone number as you normally would and press TALK.
4. When the second call is answered, press TALK again to add the first caller to the conversation.

If one of the people you called hangs up during the call, you and the remaining caller stay connected. If you initiated the call and are the first to hang up, all three callers are disconnected.

I tried this but in step 2 where it says I will hear a dial tone, I don't get a dial tone. Has anyone ever heard a dial tone on a cell phone? I don't think it's even possible, so maybe a typo in the instructions. Anyway, other than that it appeared to work although I tested it with a couple of automated phone numbers (i.e. movie showtimes), I haven't bugged friends to try it yet.

At step 2 I actually get a dial tone - the old fashioned dial tone that you get on a landline telephone.

Conference calling works great though once you figure it out.
