Sorry if this has been asked a million times. Couldn't see a thread.

Just wondering what people's view on which storage version they'd go for was? (That's an appallingly bad sentence, I apologise!)

General thoughts or any Surface RT owners who could shed a light on whether 32GB is enough?

It depends on user to user, for me 64GB portable device means I could download half of the planet.
Some may be even happy with an 8GB storage, define your needs first, also ultimate decision has to be yours ;)

I'm buying the 32GB Surface 2. I had the 32GB Surface RT with a 32GB SD card. I do a lot from the cloud, like movie streaming and music so I didn't have much of a problem with space. Before I traded it in I still had 17GB on the HD and 26GB on the SD card. That's over 40GB of space I hadn't even begun to touch.

I got the 64Gb simply because I could afford it.

But with the SD card slot and cloud storage, 32Gb is enough.

Unless you plan on storing a huge amount of songs/videos.

Really helpful answers everyone. I'm right in thinking that any SD can't store apps right?

I'm inevitably leaning towards the 64GB version, I think over the lifetime of the device I'm not going to care about the price difference.

The part of me that weeps at my credit card bill, however, wants the 32GB version! ;)

I purchased the 32GB this time around as well. I think for resale purposes and to keep the cost down, the 32GB is the best route to go. I did sell my 32GB microSd for $20 and purchased a 64GB microSD for $35 off ebay. That way I'll have about 20GB internal and 59GB on microSD.

Go with the 32gb Surface2 with either a 32GB microSD or 64GB microSD.

I would say it would matter more with apps. Other media you can just store on an sd card.

I went for the 64gb version this time. When I had an RT, I did only the 32GB - though I felt like I had to monitor my space more a lot more. I wound up getting a 64GB MicroSD card which helped a lot of files and offline outlook mail storage, but I decided to just take the plunge for more space this time. It's just nice to have a theoretical 328 GB to use overall for this (Skydrive + SD + internal storage).

Nothing wrong with the 32GB though at all -- in fact I think I might have gotten it have I not received the 10% student discount.

I was going to order a 32 given the 200GB Skydrive offer. I ended up ordering the 64 again because:

1. All of the issues regarding the SD data not showing up in the library unless hacked - not sure if fixed in 8.1
2. All of the regrets and frustrations posted by the people who ordered a 32 last time and the small amount of storage left.

It was a close call but went with the 64.

To me, I cannot justify $100 for 32GB of memory.

With a microSD card I would be absolutely fine with the 32GB. I know the OS uses up half, but really, people how many apps are you using?

+1. The $100 seemed like a lot when you can get a 32GB microSD for $30 and 64GB microSD for $40

32gb was plenty when I had my RT to be honest. I did go 64gb this time though just because I had money left over from selling my Pro.

Is 32 GB Enough?

For those with a 32 GB S2, do you find you have enough room for everything you want? I realize you can add a flash drive, but only certain things can be stored on it. I don't plan to dl and keep lots of video on the device, so I think 32 GB is enough, but I wanted others thoughts.

Re: Is 32 GB Enough?

I thought the 32 would be enough with the ability to add micro sd cards. How ever apps, books from apps like B&N and Kindle all take up main memory and it seems to fill up fast. I would say if you can afford the 64 go that route, if not you'll just have to pay more attention to your memory.

Re: Is 32 GB Enough?

I own L928 32gb and have on it everything I need and still have 20gb free. I wouldn't like to have 16gb but 32 is more than enough for me
Note: I don't hold videos/music on phone so pictures only and +files on whatsapp.

I have NEVER had enough storage, no matter what the device. I went for the 64g model.
