5 ghz wifi - Lumia 820

I can't get my Lumia 820 running the latest insider preview windows 10 to connect to my 5 ghz wifi. It won't even see the network. My Lumia 920 running 8.1 will connect to it. Does the 820 lack the capability or is there something else going on here?? Thanks

It must be something else. The 820 has dual band wifi. Until I retired mine (replacing it with a 640) I used it all the time.A lot of the newer low, middle range phones do not have dual band. The 640 being one of them. There are times I miss my 820(still have it as a backup). But the bigger screen and twice as much battery life won out over the higher end 820. The 820 is an outstanding phone, even now. But I doubt we will ever see W10 on it. That was the other reason I switched to the 640.

I just use my 820 as a media player in my car with bluetooth and for my home theater with wifi. Why isn't it working? Why would the 2.4 work but not the 5?

It may have something to do with a problem with W10 preview on the 820. I dont have the preview on any of my phones so I cannot comment on it.
