650 question

I just got a 650... set it up with facebook and stuff... but now on my home screen it has FB friends birthdays and all their contacts are in my contacts list. I know how to hide the list but how do I remove it and birthdays from my homescreen ?

another question how do I add friends to my contacts from a text they sent me ? and how do I bring up my contacts easily ?

People = Contacts. You can Pin an app to the start menu if People is not already there.

When you receive a text, click on the number in the top left of the message to open and assign or add a contact.

When you say home screen, do you mean lock screen? You can select the app to show data there.

Hi Alf!

1.) You're seeing facebook friends birthdays on your lockscreen because you have your calendar tracking your facebook friends birthdays. And you have your lockscreen set to display your calendar.

You can disable facebook birthdays on your calendar by opening the calendar app -> hamburger menu in the top left (three lines) -> uncheck "Facebook birthdays"

OR

You can take your calendar reminders off of the lockscreen by going to settings -> personalization -> Lock screen -> "Choose an app to show detailed status"

2.) You can add a phone # from a text message by opening the text -> tap the senders phone # at the top left of the screen -> Tap the save icon on the bottom right of your display -> Select the contacts name from the alphabetical list, or tap the "+" sign to add a new contact.

3.) You can bring up your contacts easily by opening the "People" app. I'd advise pinning it to your start screen if you haven't already.
