8.1 or 10 for family member?

I have a family member that I want to give one of my two icons to because they find android to be too complicated and or too much going on. This person likes a quiet stable phone environment if you get what I mean. With all the apps and updating....and things I have to explain in much too much depth for them to want to deal with......a windows phone would work very well for them I feel.

I left my 2 icons to use androids phones for the past 6 months or so. I still use my 8.1 icon as a camera and wifi unit. The other icon I have with 10 on the fast ring.....I just left the insider deal and it updated to 10586.218.

I have not put in my sim card in the updated Win10 icon yet to test and see how the .218 build works now...but wondering what everyone's experience is with it compared to any other of the insider builds....as far as being the most stable and with least amount of bugs.

I am not sure if I should return the Win10 icon back to 8.1 or let my family member use the phone with the 10586.218 build. Their needs are basic anyway, so I am thinking to return it back to 8.1 so they get the best windows phone experience possible with the Icon.

Yep, 8.1 is a pretty solid OS, leave W10M to the tech-heads.
