I heard some talk of being able to reply to texts/messages by just taping on the toast. Is there any degree of truth to this? Anyone know?

There was a leak a couple of months back that showed this off, and I think it was considered to be at least somewhat legit, but that was a while ago. It's possible that things have changed drastically since then. I do hope that this feature is present in the final build though because it's a great idea.

It looks like the concept applies to more than just text messages because that leak shows Facebook utilizing it.

Yea, I remember that leak. I would love to have that feature. But that hasn't been confirmed by wpcentral yet :/

I don't think they've come right out and said "this is a real feature," but you can kind of read between the lines here: Windows Phone 8.1 – App list sorting and actionable notifications revealed in alleged screenshots | Windows Phone Central. I'd say there's a decent chance of it actually coming, but we'll just have to wait and see I guess. Build can't come soon enough!

I hope so. This would be a uniquely-WP feature; people have been dying for features unique to the platform.
