8X won't hold a charge

My HTC 8X decided today to not hold a charge. I plugged it in for at least an hour and I think it went from 13% to 14%. I tried using a different power source, but that isn't the problem. It has worked perfectly until this morning. I didn't do anything that could have caused this. It will hold a charge while plugging in. It even shows that its plugged in and vibrates, but upon disconnecting it, nothing.

If your 8x recently had the GDR3 update as mine did. You will notice more battery drained.

Some other 8x users were saying that if you restarted your phone it will fix itself. They say you should restart about once every 3-4 days. Something about background task are still running even when they arent running (they said its a bug).

I am skeptical about it but I do know that when I restart my phone it drains slower and also charges faster.

I got the update last week and today my phone will go from 100% to about 20% in three hours. Just started this morning. I came here looking for answers. Let me do a reboot and see if that fixes the issue.

Uninstall bing weather and it will be fixed

I'm having a bit of a battery drain issue as well since GDR3.

I am having awesome battery life on gdr3. Lumia 920 owner

The reboot apparently worked, phone's battery seems to be back to normal.

My battery drain since GDR3 on verizon has been really bad. Today I lost 8% with my phone off for 1 hour. Prior to GDR3 I was getting 14+ hours on a single charge with heavy usage now I am lucky to get 6 hours with light usage.

I have tried the following and am still seeing terrible drain.
- remove Bing Weather
- stop using HTC weather lock screen
- close all background apps
- restart phone every morning

Has anyone tried going to the Microsoft developers version of GDR3? or even rolling back to GDR2?

I'm pretty fed up. My first 8X was great with battery, sometimes I could go almost 2 days without charging it. This go around, the battery is absolutely horrendous. Today I had 16% 7 hours after a full charge... that is absolutely unacceptable, especially because the phone was idling all day with nothing but Amazing Weather HD running in the background. I don't know what to do.
