925 microphone stopped working

My 925 microphone stopped working a few days ago. I have tried a soft and hard restart and my next option is to use the recovery tool and see if that does anything.
The phone was updated to W10 about a month ago and all has been good until now.

I noticed that the phone show that headphones are plugged in all the time when you change the volume.

I have same problem with my Lumia 830. I did a factory restore once and a reset another time.
interesting thing is if I put on the speakerphone it works fine but it doesn't work when used in normal mode.....
