930 Carrier Question

I have had my Lumia Icon since launch day and love it. My friend is on Verizon and asked if she can get the Lumia 930 (She likes the colors) and use it on Verizon. I have no idea... Anyone know?

Long story short: you can. Just try and find one that isn't locked to a carrier and supports Verizon's bands.

Buy one off-contract unlocked 930 online, I suppose.

Verizon has a long history of not allowing non-Verizon phones on their network.
When I got an Samsung ATIV SE (from Verizon) and put the sim into a Nexus 5 (unlocked) it would not work.
An AT&T sim in the ATIV SE did work, but that's putting a GSM radio on the AT&T network, not putting a non-Verizon phone on the Verizon network.
