So I understand the 950/950XL uses the screen type like Lumia 1020 (AMOLED) which was known for burn in due to static tiles. I guess the 1520 used the more traditional IPS LCD.

I know that both technologies have ups and downs, but based on some common complaints/ebay sales that refer to this burn in on 1020 I wondered if anyone gave it a second thought when buying a new 950/950XL as a concern?

This really came to my mind after researching buying a 1020 to companion my 1520, discovering the complaints and putting 2+2 together that the new phones use what appear as the same screen which undoubtedly could have the same issue.

Thoughts?

I had a 1020 for almost two years as a daily driver and never saw any indication of screen burn in. Not saying that it may not have occurred for some, but I never saw it.

From what I know, burn-in can only occur when the screen is on and unchanged for an extremely long period. Easily avoided.

I saw screen burn in on a 950XL at the Microsoft store here a couple weeks back. Granted those screens are left on for at least 10 hours a day.

I went through two screens. 1020. Nav bar on certain news apps is in similar places. Circles galore.
I did just buy a 950, and figure I can swipe up the nav bar if I feel like I'm almost to burn in time.
