Hi why is there A to Z on the apps screen when I swipe to the left from the start / home screen? I know that happens when there are 45 or 50 apps on the phone but I have 38.

If you at one time had 40 apps, and you delete them, you will always have the A-Z links.

The only way to get rid of them is a hard reset.

Those letters allow you to jump anywhere in the app list. Try tapping on one of them and you'll see what I mean.

I know how they work. There is just no point for them when you have a small amount of apps installed. They take up space and screen real estate. Maybe you have 50 + apps and your in need of them.

You can always tap the search button and the letters disappear. then you can scroll as you desire.

I know I tap the letters all the time. To me, they make life a lot easier. Having used/use all the major OSes, scrolling through lists to find an app compared to taping a letter to jump to what you need seems unproductive.

I don't see why scrolling through 30 to 40 apps is such a hassle. The alphabet letters take up space.

Because scrolling through those 30 to 40 apps wastes time when you can just jump to the section you want by using the letters!!
