Ability to downgrade 8.1 to 8.0 (pushed update, not PFD)

So, I can now update my 1020 from AT&T to Windows Phone 8.1 and Cyan. The thing is while adding a lot to the OS, they took away a lot of the features I like and use often. I would like to try it out on my phone, but if I want, can it be downgraded? So, I have two questions really:

1) Will a hard reset set my phone back to Windows Phone 8 (Amber), the factory condition I bought it in? I've read conflicting things about this. Some say it will reset the phone to the most recent firmware downloaded on your device (even here). In this case, that would be Cyan and not what I'm looking for. Others have said it will bring me back to the factory settings.

2) If I can downgrade, can I then upgrade one firmware version to Black, which I currently have and really like?

Thanks for any information you care share about this.

1) If you hard reset, it will bring your phone to the latest firmware you had and not the firmware your phone came with.

Sorry, but i dont know enough about the second.

There is a way but it involves flashing the ROM with another compatible ROM for the 1020.

But that method is not for the faint hearted and inexperienced users.
