after updating to 14393.105 the battery life doesn't show

My Lumia 950 was just updated to 14393.105 and the battery life on the start screen doesn't show anymore. how do I get it back?

try a soft reset - I also had an issue where the top bar for battery and signal strength went missing - soft reset worked
