I dropped my phone in water, how can I save it?

i dropped my phone in water...

so i dropped my nokia 535 in water last night and so i turned it off and left it for the night and tried turning it on this morning and a lighting bolt and gear sign came up im 13 what do i do?

You can use silica gel. If don't have it try use rice.

Continually trying to run a phone that has gotten wet and never been properly attended to (such as the method Laura linked to in her post) is probably the best way to ensure that something gets fried on the inside.

Good luck, be patient and take all necessary care.

Dump that poor phone into a bowl of dry e uncooked rice and leave it there for idk two days without touching or moving it. After that if it works than yay, if it doesn't then not yay

I fear the damage may have been done because you tried to start the phone again before treating it as well as leaving it untreated overnight.

Dropped my 535 in a mud puddle thought for sure it was done.
Had the back off and the battery out in seconds.
Fortunately the moisture detector wasn't discolored "whew"

I laid the phone in the warm sun with back off and battery out for a couple of hours.
Removed the SIM and SD also.

It came back luckily!
(the touchscreen bug remained tho... Lol)
