Alternative apps to those on IOS and android?

I did not see another thread like this, and if there is one I apologize, but was wondering if there is anywhere that has a good run down that compares the main apps on android/IOS and those not on WP that have alternatives? I am considering getting a WP but just wanted to compare the apps and also if there was any good 3rd party ones to make up for some of those that may be missing when compared to IOS/android. Thanks
