Is there an alternative for the Translator app in the Windows Store? What I miss in the translator app is a short description of a translated word.

, hi ty for replying, I meant fullscreen mode when starting Edge up (f11 hotkey does the same) but it does not matter since I forgot that while fullscreen mode removes the address & tab bars etc it also maximizes Edge so I cannot keep it along side other programs than as a small window. Not sure about the translation app as I don't use Windows Store apps.
To get Edge to start up you can try this:

So I just pinned the Linguee site to the taskbar and it works good enough I guess.
, hi, just tried but seems to be the same. Also looked for extensions that scale down the interface (so not the content) but did not found anything useful for Edge (perhaps it is not possible (yet)). I guess it does not matter much but would have made it look a bit better.Out of interest, have you tried new Edge Chromium instead to see how you get on with that?

why should it be an app from the store? What does not suit you an online translator?
, to let it be more compact (/less bars than a browser has). I don't have access to big monitors here so I would prefer a minimalistic looking app.Agreed. It shouldn't be an app in the Store, unless they are running in S mode.
