Amber update and GDR2

are amber update and gdr2 two different things ? cause am kind of confused now after reading many threads :winktongue:

GDR2 is the Microsoft update every WP 8 should get. Amber is Nokia-only with the double tap to unlock and stuff. You get them together if you have a Nokia phone.

but in about it doesnt show amber update but i have nokia pro cam flip to silence but double tap to wake isnt working

'About' shows the OS version. If you have OS Version: 8.0.10328.* and Firmware revision: 3046.***, then you have GDR2.
'Extras+info' shows the Nokia specific updates. Here it shows Lumia Amber.

Which Nokia phone are you using. Pro cam got installed after updating to Amber?

oh yeah it does show amber there oh sorry my bad i meant the nokia smart cam not pro cam i have a l720

Ok...Lumia 720 doesnt feature double tap wakeup.

peek..do u mean glance? it works. Check the last option in settings.

Not sure. I see four options on my phone. Off, Peek, Interval, Always on.

even i got the options but peek should work like if u hover ur hand over ur phone it should show the glance screen but it doesnt show like that

it works..u hav to hover ur hand over the sensor nxt to the ear piece...if i'm not wrong, it judges the light difference and then displays the glance screen.

i got gdr2 update but didnt get any features added to my phone..m using lumia 520 and i didnt get any of those features.

I update my Lumia 520 yesterday and got all the new features as mentioned by nokia to be released in the update.
New features :
1.FM Radio
2.Call + SMS filter
3.Flip to silence
4.Colour Profile in display settings
5.Nokia Smart Cam
6.Data Sense.

if you have the amber update, it means you have gdr2.
