Any information on the Lumia 929 battery?

Pretty much all of the basic specs for the device have been released but I am very curious to hear about the battery size. Will it be the same 3400mAh sized battery as the Lumia 1520 or will it be something smaller. I was sort of thinking that it would be the same battery since the device is a bit thicker. If it is, that will be my next device for sure. Has that information been leaked anywhere?

I also wonder what type of display it will be. That might have been leaked but if it was, I missed it. By that I don't mean the resolution since we all know it is 1080p but will it be AMOLED or something else?

Both intrest me too. I dont think the battery can be 3400mah because the size of the device is smaller. However the screen is smaller thus eating less battery than on 1520.

The device is 10.5mm according to the dimensions in the latest WPC article and that is quite thick. That is the only reason I have some hope of that monster battery. That would be an amazing combo with the smaller screen which is AMOLED as I found out.

Look at the Droid Maxx tho, its got a 3500mah battery in it and isn't that thick and has wireless charging built in. Its only 9mm thick, not as tall or as wide as the 929. The LG G2 has a 3000mah battery and is no where near as thick, both on the same frame size as the 929 so I thank it could very possible have a 3400 if they worked their magic on it.

I hope it is 3000-3400mah. Now that Ativ has full unlock and the extra tiles, I need a lot of convincing for upgrading. Great battery time would be sealing the deal for me. Better camera, quad core + more ram (not really needed on wp) and better screen... Yeah count me in.

I wonder since it's a variant of the 1520 if Verizon has to wait until the 1520 is release before it's officially announced?

Not a variant of the 1520 in any way, and even if it was I see no reason why they would have to wait for it's release to announce their own.

Verizon always waits till the week before they release to announce the phone, the waiting game has happened to every phone I've waited for on Verizon! I'd say expect an announcement sometime between next Tuesday and Thursday. That's just my assumption though.

PS: I doubt its less then 3000mah, and even at that I would be happy!

What's in the 928?

And I hope we get announcement within the next two weeks!

I'm getting antsy in my pantsies...

NL 928 is a 2000 mAh.

I would like 3400 mAH in the NL 929. I'm on the road a lot and I would love nothing more than a phone that lasts me for multiple days. AMOLED Display, Glance, 3400 mAH. I know that it doesn't "need" that big of a battery. But the bigger the better.

So same screen size but IPS vs AMOLED???? I mean I'm not the first one to say this, it's been mentioned on this site and others that the 929 is Verizons variant of the 1520 for AT&T. So I'm just wondering why you guys are saying it isn't? No big deal.

It comes down to how you define the word variant. I think that the size difference between the two devices is enough to say they're two entirely different phones. And practically speaking, they are. The 920, 925, and 928 were all about the same size, with about the same specs. The 1520 and 929 might share the same specs, but they're no where close in terms of size. That inch makes a huge difference. I can't even use the 1520 with one hand.

It reminds me of that commenter on a WPC article about the 525 who said "All windows phones are the exact same." - WHAT??

Well the 929 is 5 in vs the 1520 6 in. There's no SD card in the 929 and there is one in the 1520. I'd say it more like an upgrade to the 928 rather than a whole new phone like the 1520.

Okay, gotcha. I can see the SD slot being a definite difference but screen size is debatable I guess. If I'm trying to decide on a 7 inch or 10 inch tablet with the same specs except for the screen size and type it's still the same tablet just a bigger screen.

And body styling, the 928 and 929 are in the same family. The 928 is kind of a variant of the 920 but I feel that they have broken out of Nokia's typical design language (due mostly in part of Verizon aiding in the design).

In my eyes the 920 broke off in to two, the 925 and 928. The 1520 is an upgrade to the 925 body style where the 929 is an upgrade to the 928 body style. The 1020 is sort of a startup in the Lumia series (coming from the 808 of course) and that will get further development in the springtime.
