Anybody got Nexus 4 Wireless Charging Orb?

Hi,

Anybody use the Nexus 4 Wireless Charging Orb yet?

I currently have the Fatboy, but I dont' really use the pillow portion.

I'm wondering if the phone will slip off the rubbery surface....

I didn't think the orb had a rubbery surface, I thought the Nexus 4 worked with magnets to stick to the orb?

it does look fancy though! And $60 US is not too bad, right in that spot the other chargers are priced in.

no idea...someone said that on an article but it could have just been BS. Just read something else that said it charged the Droid DNA no problem.

Very interesting. I wonder how these would work with the L920. Wouldn't the magnet damage the parts of the phone? I always try to stay away from magnets with my electronic devices..

According to Tom Warren it does NOT work with Lumia phones! So much for the Qi "standard"...

When I put my nexus 4 on my Nokia wireless charging pad or my powerup speaker, it will charge for 2 seconds, then stop, then charge again, then stop, and so forth.

Interesting. I got a Maxell QI charger a while before getting my 920, as they were dirt cheap, and it works perfectly with the 920. I've read about a couple of other QI chargers that work with the 920 too, so i wonder what Google have done differently with the Nexus.

Also be interesting to see if the 920 or Nexus is compatible with the Samsung S3 wireless charger. Might go some way to deciding which is not following the standard correctly.
