I had almost the exact same issue except with a happier ending. Went to my Best Buy store after receiving the notice that my Surface book was ready for pick-up. Got there and they handed me a Surface Pro 4. I told them that this was the wrong product. They looked in the back and didn't have any in stock. The person helping me was nice enough to look at other stores near me and found one. Called them up and luckily that had it and were able to hold it for me. Now I had to call Best buy 1888 number and transfer my pick-up location to the location that had it. Arrived at the new location 15 min later and they told me the transfer order hasn't come through yet. So I waited. Then as I'm waiting I get a fraud alert from my Best Buy Card. Apparently they had charged my card at the fist location and tried to charge my card at the second location. The first charge will take a few days to clear. So I ended up canceling the whole thing and buy it from the store as if I didn't pre-order and used a different Credit card. Now once the order is cleared from my Best Buy card I can go back and return my purchase and purchase it with the Best Buy card for the financing. I think they are going to be lucky if I ever shop there again. BTW I love the Surface Book! This is the tablet PC that was promised all those years ago when Bill gates talked about tablet computing. I'm coming from a Surface Pro 2 so I know some of the things I am enjoying were in Surface Pro 3. The Pen is great, the handwriting recognition is awesome. Windows Hello is quick and awesome! And it works in Portrait and Landscape Mode! The hinge is great, solid and functional. There have been some glitches with the screen freezing but nothing that has been a problem or a good reboot will fix but honestly I'm a tech enthusiast and expect minor first generation problems and these are minor.
