Anyone using an external battery backup?

I bought http://www.amazon.co.uk/5600mAh-External-Battery-Charger-Flashlight/dp/B005NFOA0S/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1365003363&sr=1-1 to use when i was out and about, it charges the other phones in the house but not my Ativ. Anyone any idea's why not and any recommendations for one that will?

Persoanlly I wouldn't use external battery back up. Too many horror stories of phone catching fire. No phone is designed for one.

To be honest never heard of a phone catching fire using an external battery to charge it, been using them for years as well.

More then likely it does not provide enough power for the Ativ S. I found that my Ativ won't charge from my "500 ma" blackberry car chargers and I had to buy a 1000 ma car charger. I think the charger supplied with the phone is 750ma (not at home to check), Although that Battery you quoted claims 1000ma usb output it may not be putting that out.

Just checked that and its DC5v 1A so should do it. Left my official charger at work so cant check that either.

I would use an external battery backup.
If it was made by Samsung. Better off getting an spare, internal battery.
