Anyone using miracast

I am thinking about getting a miracast and attaching to my monitor so that i can read on my monitor and take notes on the sb. Has anyone used the miracast with the sb? Does it work well?

Well I have one and I've used it on a TV. I've always had problems with it connecting but after many trys it does. I've tried it on other PC an Acer and an Alienware and it those devices couldn't see it at all. I got it on sale for 29.99 around christmas. They did do a firmware upgrade recently so I'm not sure if it's better. I also bought the mini Display port to HDMI cable which works better if you have a TV thats connected to a home theater unit.

I've got the MS Wireless Display adapter (got voucher for it for free with my Surface Book) and it works fine although does occasionally take a few goes to connect. I've used the laptop as normal with a video playing on the TV on the extended display.

I have seen a couple of other more expensive adapters, but the reviews are much better than the miracast.

Did you download the new firmware? If so did it make a difference. I had the same issue unlike most bluetooth devices once you get them to connect they pretty much connect every time you have both devices on.

Not sure if that was directed at me, but if so then yes. Definitely more reliable with the new firmware.

tried it on FireTV stick and it doesn't work very well. kept on skipping and freezing.
